Our state-of-the art ASD Z-Drive and Voith Schneider Propulsion (VSP) cycloidal tractor tugs can control the world's largest tankers and freighters. Foss' fleet of 17 tractor tugs meet the performance criteria for tanker escort required by U.S. Coast Guard and all applicable state regulations in each port where we operate.
As innovators of tractor tug technology and training, Foss actively engages in vessel research, design and operation as well as in the development of escort/assist procedures and pilot/tug training. In addition to meeting our customers' needs, Foss also supports the U.S. Coast Guard, the maritime industry and port operations, including the Panama Canal Authority, Sullom Voe Terminal, the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP) and the Hibernia Oil Project.

Foss provides escort and assist services for LNG import or export terminals anywhere in the world. As specialists in starting new regional operations, we understand equipment and staffing requirements to meet your objectives. At ports in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Long Beach, Foss' fleet of bunker barges has the ability to move oil between terminals as well as for ship bunkering. Foss is also placing vapor recovery systems on all operating barges in Los Angles and Long Beach in advance of regulatory mandates.
